H.B. 2006 eliminates the requirement for a contractor’s license for commercial projects under $50,000 and for residential projects under $10,000.
H.B. 2007 gives an out-of-state worker a West Virginia license by showing they’ve worked two years. This new law will affect a multitude of occupations and professions, impacting over 100,000 licensed professionals from the STEM-related fields (such as dentists, nurses, architects, and engineers) to social workers to construction trades.
H.B. 2008 reduces training and qualifications for many construction trade workers.
Unless you take action, these bills will become law in West Virginia.
